Wikki Tourists assembling a team strong enough to regain NPFL status, says Coach

Bala Abubakar, the Technical Adviser of Wikki Tourists FC, has underscored the club's resolve to build a formidable team that can secure a swift return to the Nigeria Premier Football League.

Abubakar made this assertion during the ongoing player evaluation process at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium in Bauchi, as stated in a press release issued on Tuesday.

The coach emphasized that all players currently being assessed have an equal chance of earning a spot in the team, highlighting that only those who exhibit exceptional quality, dedication, and preparedness will be included in the final squad.

According to Abubakar, Wikki Tourists have played six pre-season friendly matches so far, with four wins and two losses, and these fixtures have enabled the technical crew to evaluate players and bolster the team ahead of the 2026/27 Nigeria National League season.

Abubakar stated, "Our mission is clear: to return Wikki Tourists to the NPFL, and we are aware of the expectations placed upon us, and with the support of our management, government, supporters, and all stakeholders, we will achieve that goal, by the grace of Allah."

The technical crew, Abubakar added, remains committed to selecting a team that will make the people of Bauchi proud throughout the 2026/27 Nigeria National League campaign.

Wikki Tourists were relegated from the NPFL and will participate in the Nigeria National League this season, seeking an immediate return to Nigeria's top-tier league.
