JAMB NO LONGER MANDATORY FOR ADMISSION – FG EMPOWERS INSTITUTIONS TO ADMIT STUDENTS USING SSCE RESULTS
The Federal Government, through the Ministry of Education, has announced a new policy granting Nigerian tertiary institutions greater autonomy in their admission processes.rnrnUnder the new directive, the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) will no longer serve as the sole or mandatory requirement for gaining admission into universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education across the country.rnrnInstitutions now have the authority to admit candidates based on their Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) results or equivalent qualifications.rnrnAccording to the Ministry, this policy aims to enhance flexibility in the admission process, promote institutional independence, and ensure that qualified candidates are not denied access to higher education opportunities.
