Wife of Soludo pledges to secure justice for youngster brutally abused by caregivers

Mrs Nonye Soludo, the wife of the Anambra State Governor, has pledged to secure justice for a 10-year-old boy who was allegedly subjected to severe abuse by his guardians in Awada, Obosi, located in the Idemili North Local Government Area of the state.

The boy, who has sparked widespread public outrage after videos of his extensive injuries surfaced on social media, is currently undergoing medical treatment under the protection of the state.

In a statement released on Monday, Mrs Soludo condemned the alleged abuse as horrific and vowed to personally oversee the child's rehabilitation and recovery process.

She revealed that she had been in touch with the state Commissioner for Health, Dr Afam Obidike, and requested that the child be transferred to a more suitable medical facility to receive specialised care.

Mrs Soludo expressed her deep sadness and disturbance over the alleged abuse, stating that no child deserves to endure such cruelty, and as a mother, she finds the images and reports from the incident deeply troubling.

Following the incident, Mrs Soludo has spoken with Dr Afam Obidike and appealed for the child to be moved to a more suitable hospital where he can receive optimum treatment and support necessary for his recovery.

Mrs Soludo has taken full responsibility for the boy's rehabilitation, ensuring he receives the necessary support to recover physically, emotionally, and psychologically.

She also called for the prosecution of all individuals connected to the alleged abuse, including the arrest of the suspect's husband to answer for the crime that occurred under his roof.

According to Mrs Soludo, those responsible must face the full weight of the law, as Anambra State, under the current administration, maintains zero tolerance for any form of abuse against children and women.

Mrs Soludo will personally follow up on the case to ensure that justice is served, and she commended those who brought the incident to public attention.

She emphasized the importance of remaining vigilant and speaking up whenever abuse is witnessed, as every child deserves protection, dignity, and love, and she thanked everyone who spoke up and brought the heinous act to light.
