WAPTV set to captivate audiences with popular Indian drama, 'Rajjo

Family entertainment channel, WAPTV, is set to become the first television channel in Nigeria to broadcast the popular Indian romantic drama series, ‘Rajjo’.
nThe development marks another milestone for the channel as it seeks to strengthen its position in Nigeria’s competitive broadcasting industry and provide premium content to its viewers.
nAccording to the management, the acquisition of the broadcast rights is part of efforts to offer quality and family-friendly programming capable of attracting and retaining audiences across television and mobile platforms.
n‘Rajjo’ follows the life of an aspiring athlete from Uttarakhand and chronicles the challenges she encounters in pursuing her dreams. The series also explores her relationship with her mother, Manorama, whose troubled past influences her opposition to Rajjo’s ambitions.
nThe family drama will be fully dubbed and subtitled in English for Nigerian viewers.
nSpeaking on the development, WAPTV Director, Wale Adenuga Jnr, said the channel had spent years pursuing the broadcast rights to the series before eventually securing them.
nHe said, “After years of painstakingly pursuing the broadcast licence of the hit show, Rajjo, we were delighted when we acquired the rights, as the series is tailor-fitted to our core values at WAPTV, to provide wholesome family-friendly entertainment that will keep our audiences glued to their screens, both TV and mobile.”
nThe acquisition comes as broadcasters continue to seek compelling international and local content to remain competitive and attract audiences in an increasingly crowded entertainment market.
nWAPTV said the addition of Rajjo to its programming lineup further reflects its commitment to expanding its content offering while maintaining its focus on family-oriented entertainment.
