VIDEO: Traffic restored on Otedola bridge after Wednesday crash — Police

The Lagos State Police Command says the Otedola Bridge section of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway has reopened to traffic, hours after a multiple-vehicle accident disrupted movement on the corridor.

The command disclosed this in a post via its X handle on Wednesday, urging motorists to exercise caution while using the route.

“The road is now open. The Command urges motorists to exercise caution while using the route and cooperate with security agencies as normal traffic flow resumes,” the post reads.

The accident, which involved three trucks and a car, occurred at Otedola, just before the bridge inward Berger, and triggered a fresh backlog extending towards the Toll Gate.

The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority had earlier deployed officers to the scene for rescue and evacuation operations, alongside personnel of the Nigeria Police Force and other emergency responders.

Wednesday’s incident added to the gridlock that has persisted on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway since Tuesday, when a separate crash at Kara Bridge compounded delays already caused by ongoing repair works on the bridge’s expansion joints.
