Cristiano Ronaldo has predicted that his eldest son, Cristiano Jr., will grow to become bigger than him, saying the teenager is already stronger than he was at the same age.

The Portugal captain remarked in a video shared by Netflix Sports on Thursday while watching Cristiano Jr. train with the Al Nassr youth team.

Speaking about his 16-year-old son, Ronaldo said, “He’s a good kid. The other ones are tougher, the ones at home, the small ones. This one is no problem.

“When I was his age, he is a little bit bigger and stronger. I was smaller. I think he will be bigger than me.”

Ronaldo, however, stressed that physical attributes alone would not determine his son’s success in football.

When another person in the video wondered whether Cristiano Jr. would have the same drive as his father, Ronaldo replied: “Hunger is the most difficult.”

Cristiano Jr., born on June 17, 2010, is Ronaldo’s eldest child and currently plays for the Al Nassr youth team. The identity of his mother has not been publicly disclosed.

Ronaldo also has twins, Eva Maria and Mateo, born via surrogate in June 2017, and daughters Alana Martina and Bella Esmeralda with his partner, Georgina Rodríguez. Bella’s twin brother, Ángel, died during childbirth in 2022.

The 41-year-old remains one of football’s most decorated players, having won 36 major team trophies with Sporting CP, Manchester United, Real Madrid, Juventus, Al Nassr and Portugal. His honours include five UEFA Champions League titles, five Ballon d’Or awards, UEFA Euro 2016, two UEFA Nations League titles and multiple league championships across England, Spain, Italy and Saudi Arabia. He is also the all-time leading scorer in men’s international football.

Ronaldo’s last competitive appearance came in Portugal’s 1-0 defeat to Spain in the round of 16 of the 2026 FIFA World Cup on July 6, a match widely regarded as the end of his international career.
