The emergence of Mohammed Ahmed, a retired Deputy Commissioner of Police, as the All Progressives Congress consensus candidate for the Gombe Central Senatorial seat has been warmly received by supporters in Yamaltu Deba Local Government Area, particularly with the 2027 general elections on the horizon.

Ambassador Benjamin Mamman, Founder and Convener of the grassroots mobilisation group "A Call to Action," has described Ahmed's selection as a significant milestone for the people of Yamaltu Deba and the wider Gombe Central zone in a statement issued on behalf of the group.

Mamman expressed that the desire for a Senator has received a significant boost through the APC, with Ahmed clinching the consensus ticket to represent Gombe Central, and attributed this development to divine grace and the collective will of stakeholders.

He commended Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Yahaya, for his leadership role in making Ahmed's emergence possible, stating that thanks are due to Almighty God for His grace and to the Governor for his statesmanship and support.
