Turkish club Trabzonspor files complaint with FIFA against Al Ahli regarding Onuachu's transfer deal

Turkish Super Lig club Trabzonspor has lodged a formal complaint with FIFA against Saudi Pro League side Al-Ahli, citing improper conduct in their pursuit of Nigerian striker Paul Onuachu, specifically alleging that the Saudi club made unauthorized contact with the player.
nOnuachu had a remarkable season with Trabzonspor, scoring 26 goals and providing two assists in 26 appearances across all competitions, which helped the team secure a top-three finish in the Turkish league and claim the Turkish Cup, with Onuachu also earning the league's top-scorer title.
nHis impressive performances have garnered attention from various clubs in Europe and beyond, with Al-Ahli being the most aggressive suitor, reportedly offering to quadruple Onuachu's current salary to acquire him.
nTrabzonspor, however, is dissatisfied with Al-Ahli's approach, alleging that the Saudi club directly contacted Onuachu to discuss a potential offer, which is a breach of regulations given that the player has two years remaining on his contract.
nAccording to FIFA rules, a club is only allowed to negotiate with a player during the final six months of their contract, and Trabzonspor is willing to sell Onuachu, but only for a fee between €10m and €15m, and the player must also formally request the transfer himself.
nShould FIFA rule in favor of Trabzonspor, Al-Ahli could face a fine, and Onuachu's immediate future is expected to remain a topic of interest as the transfer window progresses.
