Training Session: Nigeria's Squad in Turkey Now Boasts 21 Players

The Super Eagles camp in Antalya has now grown to 21 players, as the team gears up for the upcoming international friendlies in Turkey, with six new arrivals joining the squad on Wednesday morning.

This influx of players has boosted the squad, which had already seen an initial wave of early arrivals on Tuesday, including Fisayo Bashiru, Alex Iwobi, Emmanuel Oluwasegun, Yira Sor, Paul Onuachu, and Philip Otele.

Other early arrivals in camp include Semi Ajayi, Moses Simon, Francis Uzoho, Bruno Onyemaechi, and Bright Osayi-Samuel, as well as Frank Onyeka, Adebayo Adeleye, Ademola Lookman, Akor Adams, and Chidera Ejuke.

Raphael Onyedika, Igoh Ogbu, Maduka Okoye, Samuel Chukwueze, and Zaidu Sanusi are also among the 21-man squad, which is currently lodged at the Bellis Deluxe Hotel in Antalya.

Training is set to commence at 4 p.m. local time, or 2 p.m. Nigerian time, on Wednesday, with the camp having officially opened at noon on Tuesday with the arrival of coaches and team officials.

Super Eagles Media Officer, Promise Efoghe, has expressed his delight at the growing numbers and positive atmosphere in camp, stating that the players' early arrivals reflect their commitment and readiness for the task ahead.

Efoghe also noted that the team is expecting a full camp soon, which will give the coaches ample time to implement their strategies, with the technical crew keen on maximising the limited training sessions to build cohesion before the matches.

The priority for the team, according to Efoghe, is to blend the squad quickly and effectively, with every session now being crucial for their preparations.

Head Coach Eric Chelle had previously named Captain Wilfred Ndidi, Iwobi, and Lookman, alongside 20 others, for the friendlies, which were moved from Amman to Antalya due to security concerns in the Middle East.

Nigeria is set to face Iran on Friday, before taking on Jordan on March 31 in Antalya, as part of their international friendly schedule.
