Tottenham set to make move for Osimhen

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly set to join the pursuit of Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen, undeterred by the unsuccessful attempts of other top European clubs to sign the Nigerian player, according to PUNCH Sports Extra.

The north London side, having already spent over £230m on new talent this summer, have identified Osimhen as the key to completing their attacking lineup, with recent additions including Sandro Tonali, Matheus Fernandes, and Jan Paul van Hecke.

Spurs are prepared to offer £65m for Osimhen, although this figure may be deemed ambitious considering the player's prime age, status as Galatasaray's star player, and contract until 2029, which was signed for €75m/£65m.

Galatasaray has valued Osimhen at €150m, and the player has stated that he will only leave the club if they are willing to let him go, adding a layer of complexity to potential negotiations.

According to CaughtOffside, Spurs have received "sporting approval" to begin formal negotiations for Osimhen's signing, with the belief that reaching an agreement on personal terms will not pose a significant obstacle.

Osimhen has had significant success in recent years, helping his teams win three league titles in the past four years, including a Serie A title with Napoli in the 2022/23 campaign and back-to-back Super Lig titles with Galatasaray in the 2024/25 and 2025/26 seasons.

Over the past four seasons, the 27-year-old has scored 107 goals in 145 appearances across all competitions, with a notable record of 16 goals in 27 Champions League outings.
