TikToker remanded over alleged cyberbullying of Mohbad’s widow

A Lagos Magistrate’s Court sitting in Ikeja has remanded a 27-year-old TikToker, Oladimeji Hammed, popularly known as Immunizer, over allegations of cyberbullying and online harassment of Omowunmi Aloba, the widow of late singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad.

Hammed was arraigned on Tuesday on a six-count charge bordering on cyberstalking, cyberbullying and the publication of harmful online content.

The charges, filed by the Commissioner of Police, accused the defendant of using his social media platforms to publish insulting, provocative and harmful content targeted at the 26-year-old widow.

The defendant pleaded not guilty to all the charges.

The court, however, granted him bail with two sureties who must each provide evidence of a bank account balance of at least N700,000.

One of the sureties must be a state civil servant, while the other must be a blood relative of the defendant. Both sureties are also required to present evidence of tax compliance.

The matter was subsequently adjourned for further hearing.

According to the charge sheet cited by PUNCH Metro on Wednesday, one of the alleged offences was committed on February 8, 2026, when the defendant allegedly published a post suggesting that Omowunmi was planning to flee the country before justice was served in connection with her husband’s death.

The charge partly read, “That you, Oladimeji Hammed, a.k.a. Immunizer, on February 8, 2026, within the jurisdiction of this honourable court, knowingly caused to be sent through a computer system and network a message stating that Omowunmi Cynthia Aloba wanted to leave Nigeria before justice was served for Mohbad, and thereby committed an offence punishable under the Cybercrimes (Prohibition, Prevention, etc.) Act, 2015, as amended.”

The prosecution further alleged that on February 11, the TikToker shared another publication insinuating that the widow had failed to respond to allegations of infidelity during court proceedings.

On February 19, he allegedly published content claiming that private materials belonging to the widow had been leaked online.

In another count, the prosecution alleged that Hammed published a video on March 14 containing derogatory remarks and accusations against Omowunmi.

According to the charge, the publication suggested that the widow was involved in a hidden agenda relating to the affairs of her late husband.

The police prosecutors told the court that between February 8 and March 14, the defendant allegedly engaged in a pattern of online harassment targeted at the widow.

The prosecution alleged that he “knowingly and intentionally sent insulting, abusive and provocative communications” through social media platforms with the aim of causing emotional distress and exposing her to public ridicule.

According to the prosecution, the publications subjected Omowunmi to “hatred, ridicule, trolling, intimidation and threats from members of the public.”

The prosecution further alleged that the online attacks contributed to an incident on March 15 when the widow was publicly confronted and nearly assaulted by some individuals.

The final count accused the defendant of publishing nude images and other harmful content allegedly intended to humiliate, harass and bully the widow.

“That you did knowingly publish and circulate nude images and harmful content relating to Omowunmi Cynthia Aloba with the intention of humiliating, bullying, harassing and causing emotional and psychological distress to her,” the charge stated.

Mohbad died on September 12, 2023, sparking nationwide outrage and widespread calls for justice.
