The Presidency believes Tinubu warrants another term in office due to his satisfactory record.

The Presidency asserted on Sunday that President Bola Tinubu merits re-election in 2027, citing the administration's widespread economic reforms and infrastructure development initiatives across the nation.

Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Special Duties, Tunde Rahman, made this declaration during a nationwide inspection of federal and state infrastructure projects in Nasarawa State, led by Tinubu's Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.

Rahman emphasized that the administration's accomplishments, including iconic road projects, healthcare interventions, and bridges, demonstrate the positive outcomes of President Tinubu's reforms, which initially faced criticism but ultimately yielded benefits.

He dismissed opposition claims that the President has achieved nothing, stating that the evidence of progress is undeniable, and that governors, such as those in Benue and Nasarawa States, have credited federal fiscal reforms for their enhanced capacity to execute projects.

Rahman argued that the governors' ability to undertake projects is a direct result of the federal government's reforms, which have freed up resources and provided them with more fiscal space to perform, and he appealed to Nigerians to consider the President's record when making voting decisions in the next election.

Senior Special Assistant to the President on Print Media, Abdulaziz Abdulaziz, described the inspected projects as lasting legacies of the Tinubu administration, representing a revolution in public infrastructure that will outlast the current generation and improve the lives of ordinary citizens.

Abdulaziz highlighted the removal of fuel subsidy as a key factor in freeing up resources, which are being reinvested into projects with tangible impact, such as the Makurdi-Otukpo-Enugu road corridor, initiated in 2024, which has already reduced travel time and stimulated economic activity across Nasarawa, Benue, and Enugu states.

At the Total Roundabout flyover and circular intersection in Keffi, the Managing Director and Chief Executive of the Nasarawa State Urban Development Agency, Wada Mohammed, explained that the project was designed to address a history of fatal crashes along the dualised Abuja-Keffi Road.

Mohammed revealed that the flyover, initially costed at N11.1bn, required an upward review due to an increase in bridge headroom, with compensation of over N600m already paid to affected property owners and road furnishing estimated at another N1bn, and the project is expected to be completed within its 18-month timeline.

Mohammed also discussed the bridge in Mararaba area, a 2.6-kilometre continuous flyover with two pedestrian bridges and five additional pedestrian crossings, which is expected to reduce travel time from Abuja to Keffi from over two hours to less than 40 minutes, and is on course for completion before the end of 2026.

The project, costing between N43bn and N44bn, including compensation and road furnishing, is anticipated to enhance economic activities in the area and the entire Nasarawa state, according to Mohammed.

Chief Press Secretary to the Nasarawa State Governor, Ibrahim Addra, described the Keffi flyover as a project born out of necessity, recalling incidents where vehicles lost control and crashed into residential homes along the corridor.

At Akwanga, the pioneer Chief Medical Director of the Dalhatu Araf Specialist Hospital, Dr Esla Abene, outlined the facility's development in three phases, with a combined cost of over N17bn for phases one and two alone, including expanded obstetric, paediatric, and emergency units, as well as a dedicated infectious disease and isolation centre.

Phase two of the project, costed at nearly N11bn, will add an administrative tower housing multiple specialist clinics, while a third phase will introduce a trauma centre, described as one of its kind in northern and central Nigeria.
