‘The Family Man’ explores love, betrayal

Entertainment company, AK Media Concepts Limited, has announced the release of its latest drama series, ‘The Family Man’, which explores love, betrayal, forgiveness, redemption and second chances.

The 30-minute series centres on Banjo Balogun, a brilliant civil engineer played by Olarotimi Fakunle, who returns home after serving 10 years of a 21-year prison sentence following the governor’s prerogative of mercy.

Expecting to reunite with his wife and three children, Banjo discovers that his family has changed significantly during his absence.

n

His return is further complicated by his struggle to secure employment because of his criminal record. Once a respected engineer and family provider, he now finds himself struggling to regain his place in a household where his wife, Chioma, has built a successful career and become the principal provider.

The situation takes a dramatic turn when Chioma is revealed to be romantically involved with Iredia, Banjo’s best friend and marriage counsellor.

Set in contemporary Lagos, particularly the Lekki area, The Family Man blends family conflict, romance, humour, suspense and crime while examining the difficulties of rebuilding relationships and starting over after incarceration.

Actors in the movie include Joy Nmezi, Nifemi Lawal, Jasmine Olarotimi, Eze Ukwa, Femi Branch, Akin Lewis, Kunle Dada, Modola Osifuwa, Kenny Ayanfe, Babaseun Faseru, Halimah Ganiyu and Chy Nwakama, alongside Fakunle.

Directed by Tunde Olaoye and executive-produced by Olajumoke Akindeju-Asekun, the series is the latest addition to AK Media Concepts’ growing portfolio of drama productions.

Speaking on the project, the Managing Director of the company, Olajumoke Akindeju-Asekun, described the project as a multi-million-naira production created to meet contemporary cinematic standards.

She said the project features a strong storyline, advanced technical equipment and a carefully selected cast of established actors.
