Specialists emphasize teamwork, professional development for advancing in the workplace

Business leaders and professionals have stressed the importance of continuous learning, strategic relationships, and cross-industry collaboration as tools for career growth and business opportunities.

According to a statement, it followed a networking brunch hosted recently by the immediate past Director-General of the Nigerian-British Chamber of Commerce, Dr Ebere Njoku, in Lagos.

The event, tagged ‘Conversations & Connections Intentional Networking Brunch’, brought together entrepreneurs, professionals, and leaders from different sectors for discussions centred on collaboration, knowledge-sharing and purposeful engagement.

Speaking at the gathering, Njoku said the platform was designed to create an environment where professionals could build trusted relationships and unlock opportunities through meaningful conversations.

“The idea behind Conversations & Connections is simple but powerful,” Njoku said. “It is about creating the right rooms where meaningful conversations can happen and where relationships can evolve into opportunities.”

She noted that many career and business opportunities often emerge from strong professional relationships and intentional networking.

The business leader explained that she created the initiative to provide professionals with a space to exchange perspectives, build strategic partnerships and collaborate across industries.

The event featured a conversational session led by broadcast journalist and economic analyst Boason Omofaye, who spoke on the theme ‘What You Don’t Know But Should…’

During the session, Omofaye encouraged participants to pay attention not only to gaps in their knowledge but also to areas where they already possess useful information but fail to act on it.

The brunch also featured contributions from the Immigration Attaché at the Kenyan High Commission in Nigeria, Patrick Kimata, who highlighted opportunities for stronger business collaboration between Nigeria and Kenya.

At the event, Njoku formally unveiled the Conversations & Connections Network and the commencement of membership for professionals and entrepreneurs interested in joining the community.

She explained that members would gain access to curated conversations, strategic networking engagements, collaboration opportunities, business exchange tours and trade missions.

Njoku added that the network aimed to connect leaders, innovators and entrepreneurs who understand the value of trusted relationships and collaborative engagement in shaping business opportunities.
