Soludo dedicates his re-election to a higher power, appeals for sustained backing

Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra has dedicated his second term in office to a higher power, characterizing his initial tenure and re-election as the result of divine intervention, with his emergence as governor occurring at a pivotal moment, as ordained by God.
nSoludo made these remarks during a thanksgiving service held on Sunday at St. Patrick’s Cathedral, Awka, to commemorate his second-term inauguration, where he expressed his intention to devote the next four years to God.
nThe governor conveyed his appreciation for the opportunity to serve the people of Anambra, highlighting that the occasion marked a significant milestone, as it fell on the Sunday following his oath of office.
nSoludo reflected on the previous week's events, noting that his team had gathered at the International Convention Centre to thank God for the successful completion of his first four years in office, and now, they had convened to express gratitude for a successful inauguration and to entrust his second tenure to God.
nThe governor reaffirmed his conviction that Anambra remained in God's hands, emphasizing that his administration was established to serve the people during this particular moment in time.
nDrawing parallels with the biblical account of Jesus and Lazarus, Soludo noted that God's timing is always perfect, and his administration would continue to seek divine guidance and wisdom.
nHe recalled that during the election campaign, his team had prayed for the capacity to deliver exceptional results and leave the state in a better condition than they found it, and he expressed optimism that the state would experience greater progress over the next four years.
nSoludo expressed his gratitude to stakeholders for their support during his first term and called for increased collaboration to achieve improved performance in his second tenure, emphasizing the importance of collective effort.
nHe commended the members of his cabinet, whom he described as the "solution team," for their sacrifices and contributions to the state's development, acknowledging their pivotal role in his administration.
nThe governor also extended his appreciation to the Presidency, the Federal Government, the international community, the private sector, religious bodies, traditional rulers, community leaders, and youths for their support, urging them to sustain their cooperation to enable the government to consolidate its achievements.
nEarlier, the Papal Nuncio to Nigeria, Archbishop Michael-Francis Crotty, had commended the noticeable developments recorded during the governor's first term in office, highlighting the progress made under Soludo's leadership.
