Secondus extends felicitations to Adeleke, asserts Osun win demonstrates public confidence

Former National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Prince Uche Secondus, has congratulated Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, on his re-election, describing the victory as a testament to the confidence and trust of the people in his leadership.

Secondus, in a congratulatory message on Sunday, said Adeleke’s victory went beyond the fortunes of his political party, arguing that it reflected the electorate’s faith in the governor and his leadership.

The congratulatory message followed the declaration of Adeleke as the winner of the August 15 Osun governorship election by the Independent National Electoral Commission on Sunday.

He said the governor’s resilience, commitment and connection with the people had demonstrated that the voice of the electorate would ultimately prevail.

“I extend my heartfelt congratulations to you on your well-deserved victory and re-election as the Executive Governor of Osun State.

“This triumph is not merely a victory for your party, but a resounding testament to the unyielding faith, love, and trust the good people of Osun State place in your leadership.

“Your resilience, unwavering dedication, and deep bond with the populace have shown that the voice of the people will always prevail”, the statement partly read.

He urged Adeleke to use his second term to pursue sustainable development, human capital development and economic revival, while ensuring that the benefits of governance reach residents across the state.

“As you step into this monumental second term, I am confident that your vision for sustainable growth, human capacity development, and economic revival will usher in a bright new era for Osun State. Your trademark vibrancy and commitment to grassroots development are precisely what is needed to steer the state toward enduring prosperity.

“May Almighty God grant you the wisdom, strength, and good health to execute your vision, unite the state, and deliver the dividends of democracy to every corner of Osun. Once again, congratulations, My Governor”, Secundus added.

Adeleke, who contested the election on the platform of the Accord Party, polled 511,067 votes to defeat his closest challenger, the All Progressives Congress candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, who scored 444,815 votes.

The governor won in 19 of the state’s 30 local government areas, while Oyebamiji secured victory in 11 LGAs.

The election and Adeleke’s victory have continued to generate reactions from political leaders and stakeholders across the country, with several commending the electorate for exercising their franchise and calling on the governor to use his renewed mandate to deepen development in the state.
