Screening for police recruitment starts March 9 in Sokoto

The Nigeria Police Force in Sokoto State has announced that the physical and credential screening exercise for applicants seeking recruitment as police constables will commence on March 9, 2026.n
The Sokoto State Police Command said the exercise will run from March 9 to April 18, 2026, at the Command Headquarters on Gwandu Road in Sokoto, starting from 7:00 a.m. daily.n
In a statement issued on Thursday by the Police Public Relations Officer, Ahmad Rufa’i, applicants who successfully completed the online registration were advised to log in to the official recruitment portal to confirm their status and print the necessary documents for the screening.n
According to the statement: “Candidates are required to report strictly on the date indicated on their invitation slip and must come with all required documents neatly arranged in two white flat files.
“The documents include the application submission slip, physical screening form, invitation slip, credential screening form, National Identity Number printout, O’Level certificate, birth certificate or age declaration, and certificate of local government or state of origin.
“Other required documents include a completed guarantors’ form with passport photographs and trade test results for specialist applicants.”n
The Command also directed applicants to appear at the screening venue wearing white canvas shoes, white T-shirts, white shorts, and white stockings.
The Commissioner of Police in the state, Ahmed Musa, warned that the recruitment exercise is completely free and urged members of the public to report anyone demanding money in connection with the process.n
He also called on applicants to cooperate fully with officials and ensure proper preparation to enable a smooth and effective screening exercise.n
