Sadiq Umar has urged Valencia to maintain focus as the Spanish side continue their fight to secure La Liga safety, following another decisive contribution in their win over Athletic Club, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.

The Nigerian forward scored the only goal of the match at San Mamés, sealing a crucial 1-0 away victory and continuing his recent run of form for the Mestalla club.

The strike marked his third goal in four league appearances, further boosting Valencia’s push away from the relegation zone. Reflecting on the result, Sadiq stressed the importance of consistency as the season reaches its decisive stage.

“These are three very important points for the team. We have to keep going like this,” he said in an interview with the club.

The striker, who came off the bench to make an immediate impact, also highlighted the collective effort behind his goal, which arrived shortly after his introduction in the second half.

“It was the first ball I touched, but the most important thing is the team, that we work together,” he said.

Sadiq also acknowledged the difficulty of securing victory in a challenging away fixture but expressed satisfaction with the team’s performance.
