Remo manager upbeat about avoiding the drop

Remo Stars coach Usman Abd’Allah has expressed his team's confidence in avoiding relegation in the Nigeria Premier Football League after their 3-1 win over Kwara United, which has boosted their chances of survival.

The Sky Blue Stars have now achieved back-to-back home victories, first against Nasarawa and then against Kwara United, with Abd’Allah attributing this success to the team's growing consistency after a difficult period.

Abd’Allah emphasized that his side can escape the relegation zone if they maintain their current work rate and consistency, stressing the team's commitment to achieving survival despite the pressure they are under.

Abd’Allah stated, “I know this game is going to be tough, but as I said, we are always willing to see that the team get off relegation,” in an interview with 54footballX, highlighting his determination to save the team from relegation.

He further added, “I think we can come out as the favourite if we get all we need, maybe to get another three points away and come back home and do it,” outlining his strategy for the remaining matches.

Abd’Allah also said, “The work continues and we are going to get through this, which is normal,” while expressing his pride in the team's performance and satisfaction with the result.

Despite the recent win, Abd’Allah acknowledged that the battle to avoid relegation remains intense, particularly with an upcoming away fixture against El-Kanemi Warriors in Maiduguri.

He expressed cautious optimism about the trip, citing both logistical concerns and the importance of securing points on the road, saying, “I hope there won’t be any security problems in Maiduguri as our next trip is against Elkanemi Warriors.”

Abd’Allah also stated, “Three points there, the game is over,” emphasizing the significance of winning the upcoming match.

Remo Stars are currently 18th on 36 points, level with Enyimba and Wikki Tourists in 16th and 17th positions respectively, highlighting the tight relegation battle.

Kun Khalifat and Kwara United occupy the bottom two places with 33 points each, leaving the relegation battle finely poised with seven matches remaining.
