PHOTOS: Kwankwaso, Gwarzo meet Obasanjo in Kano ahead of 2027 polls

The vice-presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, Rabiu Kwankwaso, on Thursday paid a courtesy visit to former President Olusegun Obasanjo in Kano, days ahead of preparations for the 2027 general elections.
nThis was disclosed in a statement released by Kwankwaso’s media aide, Saifullahi Hassan, on Friday.
nAccording to the statement, Obasanjo, who is currently in Kano on an official assignment, received Kwankwaso at his temporary residence in the state.
n“His Excellency, Sen. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, PhD, FNSE, the Vice Presidential Candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, this night paid a courtesy visit to a statesman and former President of Nigeria, His Excellency Olusegun Obasanjo, GCFR, at his temporary residence in Kano,” the statement read.
n nKwankwaso was accompanied on the visit by the NDC governorship candidate for Kano State, Comrade Aminu Abdulsalam Gwarzo.
nThe statement added that the meeting provided an opportunity for “warm exchanges” between the political figures but did not disclose details of their discussions.
nThe visit comes amid growing political activities ahead of the 2027 general elections. However, there was no indication from either camp that the meeting was connected to any political alliance or electoral strategy.
