PAP LEADERS SUSPENDS BAYELSA STATE CHAIRMAN

The Bayelsa State Chapter of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP), Third Phase, has announced the suspension of its State Chairman, General Mondiafiri Sunday , over what was described as prolonged inconsistency in the discharge of his duties.rnrnFollowing this development, the State Executive Council of the Third Phase has appointed the Vice Chairman, Mr. Steve Diwere Okojina, popularly known as Waco, to serve as Acting State Chairman for a period of three months.rnrnThis resolution was reached after an emergency stakeholders’ meeting convened by the National Chairman of the Third Phase, General Elaye Slaboh, at the National Secretariat in Azikoro, Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.rnrnSpeaking at the briefing, General Slaboh emphasized that:rnrn“We are one family. This development became necessary because there must be no vacuum in leadership, especially as Bayelsa hosts the national secretariat. For over six to seven months, the State Chairman has not been available, and the executive must remain active for smooth operations.”rnrnHe further noted that the suspension is not permanent, stating that:rnrn“At the expiration of the three-month period, if General Mondiafiri Sunday is able to demonstrate readiness and availability to resume his responsibilities, he may be recalled.”rnrnIn his reaction, the suspended chairman, General Modiafiri Sunday, accepted the decision in good faith.
