Oyo Deputy Governor, Aiyedatiwa, and Governor Makinde to Attend Launch of Falae's Book Today

A gathering of Nigeria's top political leaders, traditional rulers, and prominent figures is set to take place in Lagos today, as they come together for the unveiling of Oba Olu Falae's autobiography, titled "The Triumph of Grace".

The event, scheduled to commence at 11 a.m., will be held at the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs, Victoria Island, and is expected to attract a wide range of high-profile guests from various sectors, including government, finance, academia, and traditional institutions.

According to Jare Ajayi, the publicity secretary of Afenifere, a pan-Yoruba socio-political organisation, the launch will draw an array of distinguished individuals from across the country, highlighting the significance of the occasion.

Oba Olu Falae, who serves as the Chairman of the National Executive Committee of Afenifere, has had a notable career, having previously held the position of Secretary to the Government of the Federation under the administration of Gen Ibrahim Babangida (retd), and briefly serving as Minister of Finance in 1990.

The ceremony will be chaired by former Head of State, Gen Abdulsalami Abubakar (retd), while the book will be formally unveiled by the Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, with Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, serving as the host governor.

The occasion will also be attended by prominent traditional rulers, including the Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Ogunwusi, and the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar, who will add royal prestige to the event, while the Deji of Akure, Oba Aladetoyinbo Aladelusi, will play host in a royal capacity.

Former Ondo State Governor, Olusegun Mimiko, is expected to review the book, offering valuable insights into Falae's decades-long career in public service, politics, and traditional leadership.

As the Olu of Ilu-Abo in Akure North Local Government Area of Ondo State, Falae remains a significant figure in Nigeria's political history, having been the presidential candidate of the Alliance for Democracy in the 1999 election, which marked the country's return to democratic rule.

The book launch is expected to celebrate Falae's remarkable journey, while providing reflections on Nigeria's political history as captured in the memoir, titled "The Triumph of Grace".
