Overhaul of tax code aims to foster growth, ensure equity – Government Official
Nigeria's tax reform will be evaluated on its ability to distribute opportunities fairly across society, rather than the revenue it generates, according to the Federal Government.
nThe Minister of State for Finance, Taiwo Oyedele, who also chairs the Presidential Fiscal Policy and Tax Reform Committee, made this assertion during the launch of a policy guide book in Abuja.
nThe event, which was hosted by the Policy Innovation Centre, drew a diverse crowd of policymakers, development partners, private sector leaders, and civil society representatives.
nHigh-level discussions focused on the 2026 tax reforms, with attendees exploring ways to leverage the ongoing reforms to create economic opportunities for women, youth, and persons with disabilities.
