Singer B-Red, son of Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has expressed optimism over his father’s chances in Saturday’s governorship election in the state.

The singer and businessman shared this on Saturday evening, shortly after collation started in the state.

In a post on X, B-Red said he could see happiness on the governor’s face as the election progressed.

“Sitting with my dad and I can see the joy and happiness on his face …. 4 + 4 = 8 OSUN,” B-Red wrote.

Adeleke is seeking re-election on the platform of the Accord Party after leaving the Peoples Democratic Party.

n

He is facing major contenders including the All Progressives Congress candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, and the African Democratic Congress candidate, Najeem Salaam.

The election is being held across the state’s 30 Local Government Areas and 3,763 polling units.

Voting has been largely peaceful in several areas, although there have been reports of isolated incidents, including challenges with BVAS accreditation, alleged voter inducement and disruptions at some locations.

Adeleke had earlier called on security agencies to protect voters, election officials and collation centres, while urging residents to remain peaceful and allow the electoral process to run its course.

His son’s post comes as the governor and his supporters await the outcome of the keenly contested election.
