#OsunDecides2026: Adeleke Exudes Optimism About Winning, Calls on Electorate to Safeguard Their Votes

Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, voiced his certainty of winning the ongoing governorship election in the state on Saturday, following his own participation in the voting process.

Adeleke cast his vote at Sagba Abogunde Ward 2, Unit 9, in Ede North Local Government Area, arriving at the polling unit at 8:32 a.m. with a substantial entourage of supporters.

After being accredited by the Presiding Officer of Ward 2, Unit 9, at 8:35 a.m., Adeleke proceeded to cast his ballot, subsequently expressing his confidence in emerging victorious in the election.

He urged the electorate to turn out in large numbers to exercise their right to vote, emphasizing the importance of protecting their votes until the electoral process is complete.

Adeleke noted that the election presented an opportunity for the people of Osun to decide their governor for the next four years, and he encouraged voters to remain peaceful and law-abiding throughout the voting and collation processes.

Additionally, he appealed to voters to stay at their polling units to monitor the process, in line with guidelines set by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.

Adeleke reported receiving information about a police officer planning to disrupt the electoral process in Ede, and he called on the Inspector-General of Police, IGP, to immediately remove the officer from the state.

He also alleged that his supporters were being intimidated by police officers in areas such as Modakeke, in an effort to disenfranchise them, and he urged his supporters to be vigilant.

Adeleke further warned his supporters to watch out for fake ballot papers that could be used to deceive voters at some polling units.

Despite these concerns, Adeleke expressed optimism that the election would be peaceful, credible, and reflective of the people's will.
