#OsunDecides2026: ADC's Flagbearer Sounds Warning on Polling Agent Lockout, Rejects Allegations of Electoral Bribery

African Democratic Congress governorship candidate Najeem Salaam has expressed concerns about the purported lack of recognition for his party's agents in multiple locations throughout Osun State during the election on Saturday.
nSalaam, who cast his vote at 10:39 a.m. upon arriving at his polling unit, stated that he had received reports indicating that ADC agents were not being acknowledged, despite the party having submitted their names prior to the election.
nThe alleged non-recognition of party agents reportedly occurred in 10 local government areas, prompting Salaam to notify the relevant authorities, which he claimed were currently investigating the matter.
nSalaam emphasized the importance of voter freedom, stating that his party's approach involves engaging with the public and presenting their programmes, while rejecting the practice of vote buying, which he claimed had never been a part of his campaign.
nHe asserted that voters should have the right to choose their preferred candidate, and that this choice should be made freely, without external influence, saying "People will decide whom they want, and I think it should be very fair enough for them to have the right to choose whom they prefer as a candidate or as the governor of the state."
nSalaam denied allegations of vote buying by the ADC, maintaining that the party's focus is on presenting its programmes and allowing voters to make their choices without interference.
nAfter voting at Ward 4, Salaam expressed confidence in his potential victory, citing his faith in God and the support of the voters as the basis for his optimism.
