Ondo lawmaker gives 1,000 pupils school materials

A member of the Ondo State House of Assembly, Biola Oladapo, has distributed school materials to 1,000 pupils as schools in the state prepare to resume on Monday.

The materials, which included school bags, books and writing materials, were distributed during the grand finale of the fourth annual summer coaching programme organised for schoolchildren in Ondo West Local Government Area on Saturday.

Oladapo, who represents Ondo West II Constituency, said the initiative was aimed at supporting the education and welfare of children in the constituency.

‎He said, “Investment in human beings remains an immeasurable asset with the potential to yield benefits in the long run.

n‎”As the representative of the people of Ondo West 2, in the Ondo State House of Assembly, nothing boosted my morale more than seeing young citizens of the constituency meaningfully engaged during their holidays.”

The lawmaker said more than 1,000 pupils and students participated in the summer coaching programme, adding that it was designed to improve their academic development and keep them engaged during the holiday.

He said the programme would also help discourage the children from engaging in social vices.

Oladapo said the distribution of the back-to-school materials was part of his commitment to supporting the educational aspirations of young people in the constituency.

He urged the pupils and students to remain committed to their education and strive for excellence, promising to continue working to improve the welfare of residents of Ondo West II.
