Ondo Deputy Governor Aiyedatiwa signs up Amotekun personnel for retirement benefits and coverage plans

Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa has given his approval for Amotekun operatives, who are part of the Ondo State Security Network Agency, to be enrolled in the state's contributory health insurance scheme, marking a significant development in their benefits package.

This move also extends to their enrolment in the contributory pension scheme and the Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund, as announced by the state Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Idowu Ajanaku, in a statement released on Monday.

The decision to enhance the benefits for Amotekun operatives is driven by the state government's efforts to improve the welfare and productivity of security personnel across Ondo State, according to the statement.

As explained by Commissioner Ajanaku, Governor Aiyedatiwa's initiative aims to boost the morale of security operatives, thereby enhancing their commitment to protecting lives and property throughout the state.

The governor has also approved the issuance of Warrants of Service Enlistment to Amotekun officers and personnel, pending the completion of the necessary legal framework, which is expected to further strengthen the corps' institutional framework and improve its operational efficiency.

With this decision, the operatives will not only benefit from the pension and social insurance schemes but also from an existing life insurance policy, providing them with comprehensive coverage.

Ahead of the Eid-el-Kabir celebrations, a total of 650 operatives have been deployed across the 18 local government areas of the state, as announced by Commissioner Ajanaku, as part of the security measures in place before, during, and after the festivities.
