OFFICIAL NOTICE: CANCELLATION OF PLANNED MASS PROTEST AGAINST THE NDDCrnrnWe, the leadership of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP) Third Phase Ex-Agitators, wish to formally inform our members, stakeholders, and the general public that the earlier proposed mass protest against the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) has been called off.rnrnThis decision was reached after careful consideration of prevailing circumstances and in the overall interest of peace, stability, and responsible leadership.rnrnThis period coincides with heightened political activities and campaigns within the country. There have been growing misconceptions suggesting that our planned protest was politically motivated or sponsored. We wish to clearly state that we are not a political tool for any individual or group. We remain committed to advocating for good governance, development, and youth empowerment across the Niger Delta region.rnrnWe also observed credible indications that some individuals and groups with questionable intentions were planning to infiltrate and hijack the protest for disruptive purposes. In order to preserve the integrity of our struggle and avoid misrepresentation, we have resolved to step back from the planned action.rnrnWe further acknowledge the importance of dialogue in resolving issues and have received signals of willingness from relevant stakeholders to engage constructively. We believe that through dialogue, mutual understanding and lasting solutions can be achieved.rnrnElders and critical stakeholders in the Niger Delta region have spoken to us. Out of respect for them, we have no option but to listen to their advice. They have also assured us that everything will be in order, and we await a positive response that the youth are duly considered.rnrnSecurity considerations also played a key role in this decision, as there remains a risk that unauthorized elements could exploit the situation to cause unrest.
