Oborevwori vows to award Julius Berger additional infrastructure contracts in Delta State

Determining to drive growth and development, Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori has restated his administration's pledge to allocate additional infrastructure projects to Julius Berger Nigeria Plc, thereby fostering job creation and expediting progress throughout the state.

During a visit to a Julius Berger project site in Osubi, Okpe Local Government Area on Monday, the governor addressed construction workers, emphasizing the need for concerted efforts to tackle unemployment and economic hardship.

Oborevwori highlighted the prevalence of unemployment and economic hardship, noting that these challenges necessitate deliberate government action to create opportunities for young people through strategic investments in infrastructure and partnerships.

The governor expressed concern that limited opportunities are leading many young people to lose hope, underscoring the importance of creating jobs, empowering youths, and ensuring development extends to every community.

Oborevwori commended the contributions of workers and contractors engaged in various projects across the state, acknowledging their vital role in advancing infrastructure and community development.

The governor announced his administration's intention to continue collaborating with Julius Berger on major projects in Warri, Effurun, and other parts of Delta State, including the reconstruction of the Effurun Roundabout to the NPA axis.

This project, awarded to Julius Berger, is part of the government's broader plan to modernize infrastructure within the Warri-Effurun metropolis, demonstrating the administration's commitment to enhancing the state's development.

Oborevwori reaffirmed his determination to complete critical projects, including roads, bridges, and essential infrastructure, emphasizing the long-term benefits these will bring to the state's residents.

The governor also revealed plans to inaugurate the completed Trans Warri–Ode Itsekiri Roads and Bridges project after the completion of the Ubeji–Ifie Road, marking a significant milestone in the state's infrastructure development.

Oborevwori praised President Bola Tinubu's economic reforms, which have increased revenue allocations to state governments, enabling them to execute projects and pay salaries promptly.
