Oborevwori Gifts Vehicle to Journalists' Union in Delta State

The Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, has handed over a brand-new Toyota Hiace bus to the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Delta State Council, as a gesture of support for the union's activities, which was presented in Asaba on Tuesday.

The presentation was made by the governor's Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon, who highlighted that the donation was a testament to the strong bond between the state government and journalists in the state, and expressed the governor's hope that it would further bolster cooperation between the two entities.

According to Ahon, the vehicle was specifically donated for the use of the NUJ council, and the governor was optimistic that the gesture would foster a stronger partnership between the government and the media, ultimately contributing to the development of Delta State.

Ahon congratulated the NUJ leadership and members on the acquisition of the vehicle, and prayed that it would serve the union effectively, while also reiterating the governor's commitment to maintaining a cordial relationship with the media.

Churchill Oyowe, the Chairman of the Delta State NUJ Council, received the bus and expressed his gratitude to the governor for fulfilling his promise to the union, describing the donation as a demonstration of Oborevwori's commitment to keeping his word.

Oyowe noted that the donation went beyond providing the union with a vehicle, as the brand-new and modern bus would enhance the council's activities, and he thanked the governor for the gesture, stating that it would further cement their cordial working relationship.

The NUJ chairman commended the Oborevwori administration for its development efforts across the state, and expressed optimism that the government would record more achievements before the end of its tenure, while also reaffirming the union's commitment to maintaining a cordial relationship with the state government.

Oyowe also thanked the Secretary to the State Government, the Commissioners for Works (Rural Roads) and Information, as well as the Chief Press Secretary, for their roles in ensuring that the donation was realised, acknowledging the partnership and support of the administration.
