Nigerian film star Ighodaro scores starring part in Indian TV show

Nigerian-American actress Osas Ighodaro has landed a starring role in the forthcoming Nolly-Bollywood micro-drama series Imported Bahu, a project unveiled on Monday by executive producer Hamisha Daryani Ahuja.
nThe series features Ighodaro alongside Bollywood actor and model Rajniesh Duggall in a narrative that explores love, family secrets, and a cross-cultural romance.
nOn Monday, Ahuja announced the production on Instagram, describing Imported Bahu as the first vertical micro-drama series from her production company, Forever 7 Entertainment.
nIn her Instagram post, Ahuja wrote, “For months, we’ve been keeping a secret, today, we’re finally sharing it, introducing Imported Bahu — Forever 7 Entertainment’s first vertical micro-drama series, a story of love, family, secrets, and one Imported Bahu who turns everything upside down.”
nAccording to the trailer, the storyline revolves around Bahu Mehra, the son of a wealthy Indian family who travels abroad and returns with an unexpected companion, Nigerian Zara Ogun, played by Ighodaro.
nZara Ogun, a multimillionaire CEO of Oguns Fashion, is depicted as a bold and confident character who faces rejection from Bahu’s family.
nThe series is set to premiere on July 2, 2026, exclusively on LebaraPlay, a platform billed as Africa’s first telecom-owned micro-drama platform.
nAhuja, known for facilitating collaborations between Nollywood and Bollywood, has previously produced films like Namaste Wahala and Postcards.
nThe new series is expected to further Ahuja’s efforts to bridge the gap between African and Indian storytelling through cross-cultural productions.
nIghodaro’s casting in Imported Bahu marks a significant milestone in her career, expanding her presence in the international entertainment scene.
nThe actress has garnered recognition for her performances in film and television, as well as her work as a television presenter and former beauty queen.
nThe trailer for Imported Bahu has already been released ahead of its July debut, generating excitement among fans of both Nollywood and Bollywood productions.
