Nigerian Economic Summit Group names NLNG managing director as new board member

The Nigerian Economic Summit Group has bolstered its leadership by appointing Adeleye Falade, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Nigeria LNG Limited, to its Board of Directors, as part of a broader strategy to enhance its policy advocacy and private sector-led economic reform initiatives.
nThis key appointment was announced during the NESG’s 2026 Annual General Meeting, which took place on July 14, 2026, at the organisation’s Summit House in Lagos and virtually, and was disclosed in a statement issued on Sunday by the Chief Executive Officer of the NESG, Dr Tayo Aduloju.
nThe annual meeting provided a comprehensive review of the group’s activities and financial performance for the year ended December 31, 2025, and was attended by a diverse range of stakeholders, including members of the board, auditors, company secretaries, and other key stakeholders.
nFalade’s appointment is a testament to the organisation’s commitment to strengthening its leadership with experienced professionals who possess the expertise and capabilities to drive its mission of promoting sustainable economic development, inclusive growth, and private sector-driven transformation.
nThe statement highlighted that Falade’s appointment underscores the NESG’s dedication to recruiting accomplished professionals whose expertise and experience will support the Group’s mission of promoting sustainable economic development, inclusive growth, and private sector-driven transformation in Nigeria.
nAs the head of Nigeria LNG Limited, one of the world’s leading liquefied natural gas companies, Falade brings nearly three decades of experience in the global oil and gas industry, spanning upstream, midstream, and liquefied natural gas operations.
nThroughout his career, Falade has held several senior technical, operational, and executive leadership positions within the Shell Group and the international LNG industry, with a geographic scope that encompasses Europe, Asia, the Middle East, Russia, and Africa.
nHis areas of expertise include operations management, engineering, production optimisation, business transformation, operational excellence, organisational effectiveness, and stakeholder engagement, making him a versatile and seasoned professional.
nPrior to assuming leadership of NLNG, Falade served as Managing Director of Brunei LNG Sendirian Berhad, where he led one of the world’s established LNG producers, and also served as Country Chair for Shell Namibia, overseeing the company’s business operations and stakeholder engagements in the country.
nFalade previously held key leadership positions at NLNG, including General Manager, Production, and Operations Manager, where he played a crucial role in improving plant reliability, operational performance, safety, and business efficiency.
nHe is widely recognised for his commitment to operational discipline, governance, organisational transformation, and sustainable value creation, and holds a bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the University of Ibadan and a Master of Business Administration from Henley Business School, University of Reading, United Kingdom.
nFalade is also a Fellow of the Nigerian Society of Engineers and a registered engineer with the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria, further solidifying his credentials as a seasoned professional.
nThe NESG believes that Falade’s appointment will strengthen the organisation’s work on policy dialogue and economic reforms, leveraging his extensive experience and expertise to drive meaningful impact.
