Nigerian Boy, 12, Takes Home Bronze Medal at International Performing Arts Competition

A remarkable feat was achieved by 12-year-old Chibuchi Francis, a Nigerian actor, who secured a bronze medal in the Acting category for ages 11-12 at the 2026 World Championships of Performing Arts in Las Vegas, Nevada, United States.

The championships, which took place from July 13 to July 21 at the Westgate Las Vegas Resort & Casino, drew in performers from over 80 countries, all competing in various disciplines such as acting, singing, and dancing.

Known as the "Entertainment Olympics," this annual event provides a platform for emerging performers to showcase their talents while fostering cultural exchange and artistic excellence.

Chibuchi Francis represented Team Nigeria, led by Ambassador Lovethpatra White Ekufu, the National Director of WCOPA Team Nigeria and Founder of Street2Fame Nigeria Performing Arts Entertainment.

His participation in the global event was made possible by Street2Fame Nigeria Performing Arts Entertainment, which sponsored him as part of its initiative to expose gifted Nigerian youths to international opportunities.

Ambassador Lovethpatra White Ekufu took to LinkedIn on Sunday to react to Chibuchi's achievement, describing the bronze medal as proof that Nigerian children have the talent and potential to excel globally with the right support.

Ekufu stated, "The bronze medal won by Chibuchi David Francis proves that Nigerian youths possess world-class talent, and when given the opportunity to dream, prepare, and compete, they can excel on the global stage."

The organisation is working towards establishing a nationwide talent development system, which includes state and zonal championships, national competitions, and professional training programs, as well as Nigeria's annual participation in the World Championships of Performing Arts.
