Nigeria-Vietnam Business Association Aims to Empower Young Entrepreneurs

The Nigeria-Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry has said it will incorporate youth-driven start-up stakeholders with disruptive ideas into its development plans as part of efforts to build a lasting ecosystem for youth contribution and innovation.

Members reached this resolution at the 2026 NVCCI Business Meeting held in Lagos on 27 March under the oversight of the President of the Nigeria-Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Oye Akinsemoyin.

According to the resolutions contained in a communique, the chamber plans to use the collaboration to create “a game-changing, enhanced and lasting youth-driven contribution ecosystem” through partnerships involving government agencies, private sector players and international stakeholders.

The chamber stated that it would “incorporate many youth-driven start-up stakeholders with distinctive disruptive initiative ideas into the planning scheme for the intrusion of new ideas.”

It added that the initiative would also “lay the foundation for a game-changing, enhanced and lasting youth-driven contribution ecosystem through this developmental collaborative effort.”

The meeting also included plans to strengthen preparations for the targeted Vietnam International Logistics Exhibition programme scheduled for July 2026.

The chamber said it would work with Vietnamese counterparts to plan a strategic seven-day public-private partnership delegation to Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City between 26 July and 2 August 2026.

According to the communique, the collaboration will involve Vietnamese partners including VINEXAD, organisers of the VILOG logistics trade fair, and the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The chamber stated that all Vietnamese counterparts monitored the Lagos business meeting through live streaming during the deliberations.

The communique also directed the appointment of “official travel advisor, official protocol, official tour guide, official surface transportation guide, official financial advisor”, and other support structures to aid the delegation.

The body further resolved to work with professionals in the Federal Ministry of Youth Development as the lead government partner in the public-private partnership arrangement, noting that the ministry will coordinate the process from inception to implementation in partnership with the NVCCI under an agreed roadmap.

The meeting also agreed to compile a strategic plan with contributions from stakeholders for submission to the Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Youth Development for approval.

The chamber added that stakeholders would also develop funding strategies, timelines and sponsorship plans for the programme in collaboration with the ministry.

Other resolutions included regular virtual strategic planning meetings and the deployment of digital applications such as websites for publicity, programme registration, monitoring and evaluation.

Speaking on preparations for the Vietnam delegation, Akinsemoyin said the first phase of the visit will take place in Hanoi, where Nigerian and Vietnamese government officials would spend two days discussing bilateral public sector opportunities.

He stated that the Hanoi visit would also feature a special Nigeria-Vietnam Business Investment Forum before the delegation proceeds to Ho Chi Minh City for the 4th Vietnam International Logistics Exhibition scheduled for 30 July to 1 August 2026.

NVCCI’s president stated that the VILOG exhibition would focus on logistics and supply chain management participants and would also host a mini “Products of Nigeria Exhibition 2026”. Akinsemoyin described Ho Chi Minh City as the commercial nerve centre and a major port city in Vietnam.
