Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps establishes fresh operational base in Kano

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Kano State Command, has established a new operational outpost in Yelwa Quarters, Dala Local Government Area, to bolster security and provide effective protection for the community, according to a statement released on Thursday by Public Relations Officer Ibrahim Abdullahi on behalf of State Commandant Mohammed Agalama.
nThis move is aimed at enhancing the security presence in the area and ensuring a swift response to emerging security issues, as outlined by Agalama during the commissioning of the facility, which he described as a strategic step towards bringing security services closer to the local population.
nAgalama stressed the crucial role of community involvement and inter-agency cooperation in addressing insecurity, urging residents to provide security agencies with timely and credible information to help prevent crime and maintain peace in the area.
nHe expressed gratitude to the local government council and the people of Yelwa for their support and cooperation, emphasizing that security is a collective responsibility requiring the commitment of government, security agencies, traditional institutions, and the general public.
nLG Chairman Suraj Imam pledged the council's continued support to the NSCDC and other security agencies operating in the area, committing to assist in addressing security challenges and ensuring the safety and wellbeing of residents.
nImam described the commissioning of the outpost as a positive development that would further enhance security operations and boost residents' confidence in the area, as he assured that the local government council would continue to support security agencies to enable them to discharge their duties effectively.
nThe event was attended by various dignitaries, including the NSCDC's Area 'C' Commander, Corps divisional officers of Gwale and Kano municipals, the Dala Divisional Police Officer, personnel of the Nigeria Immigration Service, and members of the Neighbourhood Security Outfit, Hisbah.
nRepresentatives from local security and community groups were also in attendance, marking a significant show of support for the new operational outpost and the efforts to strengthen security in the area.
