A prominent Niger Delta activist, Chief Inko Brightstar, popularly known as Whoknows Tomorrow, has strongly challenged the management of the Bayelsa State City Park over reported threats to arrest a young lady who visited the park and allegedly touched a lion’s tail.rnrnReacting to the incident, Chief Brightstar faulted the decision to target the visitor, describing it as a deliberate attempt to shift blame and evade responsibility.rnrnIn his words:rnrn“Arrest her for what specific offense? The attempt to criminalize the victim completely misses the point. The real issue here is the glaring negligence of the management of the so-called City Park. Any facility that allows a visitor to gain unrestricted access to a lion’s enclosure has fundamentally failed in its duty of care and responsibility to ensure public safety.rnrnThis incident clearly exposes poor safety standards, inadequate supervision, and a reckless disregard for human life. If an ordinary visitor can access a dangerous wild animal with such ease, then it is equally possible for the animal to escape and attack unsuspecting members of the public.
