News of the meeting emerged via a post on Gwarzo's verified Facebook page, which was shared shortly after the gathering concluded.

Gwarzo revealed that the meeting with Vice President Shettima was attended by himself, Ganduje, and Bichi, and that discussions centred on the politics of Kano North and broader party affairs.

According to Gwarzo, the Vice President wished them success and prosperity in their political endeavours, with the talks focusing on politics and party affairs in Kano North.

This meeting follows Gwarzo's recent screening as an aspirant for the Kano North Senatorial District seat, which he is seeking to represent under the All Progressives Congress platform.

Kano North remains a significant political bloc in Kano State, with several prominent APC figures from the zone expected to play key roles in the lead-up to the 2027 elections.

Notable political figures from Kano North include Deputy Senate President Senator Barau Jibrin, former governor Ganduje, Deputy Governor Murtala Sule Garo, Abba Bichi, and Gwarzo himself.

The Kano North Senatorial seat is currently held by Senator Barau, who is also expected to seek re-election in 2027.
