Next Year: BOOT Party reveals its pick for Ogun state governor

Adekunle Adenuga, the 2027 governorship candidate of the BOOT Party for Ogun State, has unveiled a comprehensive plan to tackle the state's developmental challenges, leveraging a meticulously researched blueprint crafted over 16 years. This pledge was made on Friday during the official unveiling of the party's candidates at the secretariat in Arinlese, Abeokuta.

Upon accepting the party's governorship ticket, Adenuga expressed his gratitude to the party leadership for their trust in him, acknowledging the weight of responsibility that comes with the nomination and reaffirming his commitment to delivering purposeful leadership.

Adenuga's aspiration, he emphasized, is driven by a determination to provide sustainable solutions to the challenges facing Ogun State and Nigeria, rather than a desire to criticize previous administrations.

According to Adenuga, the development blueprint, which aligns with national development goals, has the potential to serve as a model for other states if successfully implemented in Ogun.

Although the vision has existed for several years, Adenuga noted that the opportunity to bring it to fruition has now arisen, prompting him to accept the responsibility of being the party's flag bearer.

Adenuga stated, "I accept the responsibility of being the flag bearer of this party, and for over 16 years, I have dedicated myself to finding practical solutions to the problems confronting our society.

We have carefully developed our plans and agenda, and I thank God for giving me the opportunity to begin implementing them in Ogun State," he added, underscoring his focus on addressing real issues affecting the people.

Adenuga's approach, as he explained, is distinct from the usual promises made by political parties, as it is backed by practical solutions, and he expressed his desire to tackle the challenges facing the state with a structured plan.

He noted that the blueprint is designed for the Federal Republic of Nigeria but will be initiated in Ogun State to demonstrate its viability, with the expectation that other states will adopt the model once its effectiveness is evident.

Abiodun Akerele, the Ogun State Chairman of the Boot Party, earlier emphasized that the party's core principles include transparency, accountability, the rule of law, and selfless service, which will be prioritized if the party is elected into office.

Akerele described these principles as the foundation of the party's ideology, highlighting the party's motto, "Fiduciary, Obedience and Service," which guides its operations.

The party, according to Akerele, remains committed to prudent management of public resources and strict compliance with constitutional provisions, distinguishing itself through financial accountability and compliance with the Independent National Electoral Commission's requirements.

Akerele explained that the party submits detailed annual financial reports to the Independent National Electoral Commission, outlining its income and expenditure, as a testament to its commitment to accountability.

He stressed that accountability is a core value of the party, ensuring that every resource held in trust for the people is properly accounted for when entrusted with public office.

Akerele also emphasized the importance of obedience, stating that without it, there can be no discipline, progress, or crime control, and every party member is expected to abide by the rules and regulations, with the constitution being supreme.

The party, as Akerele assured, was established to serve the people, rather than pursue personal interests, and its elected officials will prioritize citizens' welfare above personal or political considerations.
