NDC distances itself from purported candidate roster making rounds online

The Nigeria Democratic Congress has issued a statement denying the authenticity of a list of candidates for elections in Imo, Abia, and Anambra states that is currently circulating on social media, labeling it as fake and unauthorized.

This denial was made in a statement released on Friday by the party's National Secretary, Ikenna Enekweizu, who urged party members and the general public to disregard the lists.

The party emphasized that it has already submitted the genuine list of candidates to the Independent National Electoral Commission through the proper channels as prescribed by the Electoral Act.

A statement from the party warned the public, particularly NDC members in Imo, Abia, Anambra, and other affected states, to ignore the lists of candidates circulating on social media, as they are not authentic.

National Secretary Ikenna Enekweizu claimed that the fake documents were being spread by "mischief makers" seeking to create confusion and divert the party's attention from its activities.

According to Enekweizu, the NDC has begun investigating the source of the fake lists and how the information was disseminated, describing such actions as desperate attempts to cause ill will and distractions within the party.

The party reassured its members of its commitment to maintaining internal cohesion and its goal of providing an alternative political platform for Nigerians.
