National Youth Service Corps to commence online enrollment on March 12

The National Youth Service Corps has set a registration window of March 12 to March 18, 2026, for prospective corps members to sign up for mobilisation through its online portal, which was announced via a social media flyer on Friday.

The notice, targeted at prospective corps members, stipulates that only those whose names are on the approved Senate or Academic Board lists, as uploaded by their institutions, will be eligible to register for the programme.

A statement on the flyer reads, "Attention, Prospective Corps Members (PCMs), I am happy to inform you that the NYSC portal will be opened for online registration from 12th to 18th March, 2026," and further clarifies that eligibility is limited to "PCMs who have Senate/Academic Board approved results and whose details have been uploaded on the NYSC portal by their respective institutions."

Prospective participants are advised to consult the NYSC's official website and social media channels for comprehensive guidelines on the registration process, with a particular emphasis on verifying personal details beforehand.

The agency stresses the importance of matching the name on the National Identity Management Commission record with the one on both the Senate list and the NYSC portal, to avoid any discrepancies.

Furthermore, graduates are cautioned to ensure that their names align with those on their certificates or statements of result, as part of the verification process.

In a bid to streamline the process, the NYSC directs applicants to confirm their details through the Senate list verification portal before proceeding with online registration.

Earlier, PUNCH Online reported that Minister of Education, Maruf Tunji Alausa, unveiled stricter measures to combat certificate fraud, warning that graduates lacking proper documentation would be ineligible for NYSC mobilisation.

Alausa underscored the Federal Government's commitment to strengthening institutional compliance and academic records management, as part of broader reforms geared towards safeguarding the credibility of the country's education system.
