Napoli Striker Osimhen Opens Door to Potential Arsenal Move

Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen has dropped a significant hint that he may leave the Turkish champions during the summer transfer window, refusing to dismiss speculation about a potential move to Arsenal, amid mounting rumors linking him to the Emirates Stadium.

Osimhen, who scored two goals in the 2-2 season-opening draw against Corum FK, adopted a cautious approach when addressing the transfer rumors after the match, choosing not to rule out a possible departure from the club.

The 27-year-old Nigerian striker stated, "There are always rumors during the transfer windows, I will focus on my job, I am focused on my work, we will see and think about what comes next then," in an effort to strike a diplomatic tone without closing the door on a potential exit.

According to Spanish publication SPORT, Barcelona had the opportunity to sign Osimhen but decided to pursue alternative options, reportedly clearing the path for Arsenal to make a move for the Nigerian striker, who is valued at just over £64 million by Transfermarkt.

Galatasaray have reportedly rejected a recent offer of €130 million from Saudi Arabian side Al Hilal for Osimhen's services, while Arsenal are said to have reopened negotiations for a potential transfer.

Arsenal, who begin their 2026-27 season against Manchester City in the Community Shield on Sunday, struggled to find the back of the net last season, scoring just 71 Premier League goals, and have so far failed to secure their top targets, including Morgan Rogers, Bradley Barcola, and Julian Alvarez.

Despite the ongoing speculation, Osimhen has reaffirmed his commitment to Galatasaray, to whom he is contracted until June 2029, stating that he is prepared to give his all for the club in the upcoming season.

Osimhen said, "It is going to be a tough season, the team is aware of that, I am ready to give everything for this club, this was an important wake-up call, it was a wake-up call for the players too," as he reflected on the season-opening draw.

Following the match, Osimhen took the opportunity to apologize to the Galatasaray ultras for his side's failure to secure a win, and emphasized the need for a collective response from his teammates in the upcoming matches.

Osimhen added, "We have to give everything on the pitch, our fans give us incredible energy, they always support us, we need to reciprocate, we need to gain momentum before the Champions League, we need to fight very well from the very first match."
