Multiple emergency vehicles serving London's Jewish community reduced to rubble

An investigation is underway by London's police into an alleged arson attack, which is being treated as an antisemitic hate crime, following the torching of volunteer ambulances operated by a Jewish organisation on Monday.

The incident occurred at Highfield Court in Golders Green, where the London Fire Brigade received an alert at 1:40 am regarding vehicles on fire.

Upon arrival, firefighters discovered that multiple cylinders on the vehicles had exploded, causing windows to shatter in a nearby block of flats.

The burned-out vehicles were identified as four Hatzalah ambulances belonging to the Jewish Community Ambulance service, according to the Metropolitan Police.

Police have stated that officers are still at the scene and are handling the arson attack as an antisemitic hate crime, with no reported injuries and all fires extinguished.

A review of CCTV footage and online videos is currently being conducted, with three suspects being sought at this preliminary stage, as stated by Superintendent Sarah Jackson, who also confirmed that no arrests have been made.

As a precautionary measure, nearby homes were evacuated, and road closures remain in effect, while the London Fire Brigade continues to investigate the cause of the fire.

Shomrim North West London, a neighbourhood watch group and charity, has denounced the arson, describing it as a "targeted and deeply concerning incident" that affects a vital emergency service for the local Jewish community.

The group took to Facebook to express their condemnation, stating that "an attack on these ambulances is an attack on the safety, well-being, and resilience of our community… There is no place for antisemitism or hate in our society".
