Military relocates troops to freshly allocated quarters in Kaduna

The Nigerian Army has officially taken possession of a newly built accommodation block at Ribadu Cantonment in Kaduna State, a move aimed at boosting the well-being of troops.

This development is part of the 1 Division Nigerian Army's efforts to enhance the living conditions of its personnel, with the project having been funded by the Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Waidi Shuaibu, in accordance with his command philosophy and the "Soldier First Culture" initiative.

The command philosophy prioritises personnel welfare as a crucial factor in achieving operational efficiency, highlighting the importance of a comfortable and supportive environment for soldiers.

Maj.-Gen. Abubakar Wase, the GOC 1 Division and Commander, Sector 1, Operation Fansan Yamma, was represented at the ceremony by Lt.-Col. R.O. Ejoor, the Commanding Officer, Administration Battalion, 1 Division Garrison.

In his address to the soldiers, Maj.-Gen. Wase emphasised the need for a strong maintenance culture to preserve the newly constructed facility, warning against any activities that could compromise its integrity.

Wase specifically cautioned against illegal electricity connections, stressing that any soldier found engaging in such practices would face disciplinary action, and instead encouraged responsible behaviour to ensure the longevity of the state-of-the-art accommodation.

The GOC 1 Division also expressed his gratitude to the Chief of Army Staff for funding the project, acknowledging the critical role that such infrastructural development plays in sustaining the fighting efficiency and psychological readiness of troops deployed across the country.

The ceremony concluded with the formal presentation of keys to the soldiers, marking their official transition into the new accommodation block at Ribadu Cantonment.
