Media practitioners urged to uphold truth, accuracy

Media practitioners in Cross River State have been charged to uphold truth, accuracy and professionalism.
nThe charge was given on Tuesday at the close of a Five-Day Information and Media Convergence organised by the Forum of Directors of Information in various campuses in the state
nThe event, which brought together students, media practitioners, and communication leaders, had other participants virtually.
nThe Convener, Cynthia Maduekwe, hailed all partners, speakers, and participants, describing the initiative as insightful, engaging, and impactful.
nShe said, “This platform is to mould us as watchdogs of society and to expose us to the Journalistic ethical requirements. It is a very insightful, engaging and impactful session.”
nShe explained that the event was to bridge the information and skills gap among young journalists, as well as public relations students, preparing them for opportunities in the modern economy.
nMaduekwe urged participants to reflect on what they learn in their communities.
