Leeds urge supporters to observe Ramadan pause during matches

Leeds have called upon their fans to exercise respect during the planned pause in Sunday's FA Cup match against Norwich, which will allow players to break their Ramadan fast.
nThis pause is scheduled to occur around the 75th minute of the game, at an appropriate time following sunset in Leeds at 5:56 pm, as stated by the club.
nA similar pause took place during the previous weekend's Premier League match against Manchester City, which was met with booing from some Leeds supporters, a reaction that the club found disappointing and unexpected.
nAccording to Leeds, the brief halt in proceedings will enable players from both teams to replenish their fluids and energy levels in accordance with a pre-agreed protocol.
nLeeds acknowledged that they should have been more proactive in communicating with supporters prior to the Manchester City fixture to explain the planned pause and its purpose.
nThe club noted that a message displayed on the big screen at Elland Road during the Manchester City match was not visible to approximately 25 per cent of the stadium.
nLeeds United Football Club has explicitly condemned any supporters who boo players observing Ramadan and utilize the protocol to break their fast, emphasizing that such behavior is unacceptable.
nThe club views Sunday's match against Norwich City as an opportunity for fans to demonstrate the best of Leeds United's spirit and show that everyone is welcome at Elland Road.
