Law enforcement thwarts abduction bid, frees two captives in Ondo

The Ondo State Police Command successfully thwarted a kidnapping attempt along the Idogun–Imeri axis in Ose Local Government Area, freeing two captives in the process.
nThis incident took place on Friday at approximately 5:45 p.m. when a group of suspected kidnappers launched an attack on a social gathering that was underway, where numerous guests had congregated.
nAccording to a statement released by Abayomi Jimoh, the Police Public Relations Officer of the command, on Saturday, the police promptly responded to a distress call and swiftly deployed operatives to the scene.
nUpon arrival, the operatives engaged the assailants, effectively disrupting their operation and rescuing two victims from the clutches of the attackers.
nThe rescued individuals were subsequently taken to a nearby medical facility for treatment, as confirmed by the command.
nThe Commissioner of Police, Adebowale Lawal, commended the operatives for their swift response and assured the public that security measures in the area would be intensified.
nReinforcement has been deployed to the area, with ongoing combing operations aimed at apprehending the suspects who are currently on the run.
nThe command has reiterated its unwavering commitment to combating violent crime and has vowed to track down and apprehend all suspects, ensuring they face the full force of the law.
nAdebowale Lawal also expressed gratitude to the citizen who provided timely and crucial information that facilitated the operation, urging the public to continue providing security agencies with credible intelligence.
nThe command has urged residents to remain calm and vigilant, as efforts are ongoing to secure the area and prevent any further incidents from occurring.
