Law enforcement intensifies campaign against motorists breaking rules in Delta

The Delta State Police Command has reaffirmed its commitment to upholding traffic laws and regulations, emphasizing that non-compliance will be met with severe repercussions for drivers who disregard the rules.

Deputy Commissioner of Operations Olumuyiwa Adejobi made this announcement in a statement released on Sunday, revealing that the state government has established seven mobile courts to adjudicate traffic-related offenses in collaboration with the police.

According to Adejobi, the mobile courts will work in tandem with law enforcement to ensure efficient and professional enforcement of traffic regulations, guaranteeing a seamless process.

Adejobi stressed that all vehicles operating on Delta roads must be properly registered and display their number plates prominently, as mandated by the Federal Road Safety Commission.

He underscored the requirement for all vehicles to be licensed and for drivers to carry relevant documents, including photocopies of vehicle papers, which must be presented to law enforcement officers upon request.

Adejobi cautioned that failure to comply with these stipulations would result in legal consequences, emphasizing the importance of adherence to traffic regulations and respect for law enforcement personnel.

He urged motorists to view the enforcement measures as essential for maintaining order and safety on the state's roads, and to cooperate with traffic authorities to achieve this goal.

Adejobi, a former Force Public Relations Officer, appealed to the public to work with traffic authorities, warning that the Delta Police Command would continue to pursue traffic violators across the state through the mobile court system.
