LASTMA Launches In-Person Feedback Hub to Enhance Transparency and Community Oversight

The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority has set up a Physical Complaint Centre at its Oshodi headquarters, offering a dedicated space for residents to voice their traffic-related concerns, file complaints, and seek information about the agency's personnel.
nThis move is part of the authority's broader efforts to enhance transparency, accountability, and citizen-focused service delivery, as announced in a statement on the agency's official X handle on Thursday.
nThe new centre follows the launch of LASTMA's 3367 toll-free call centre just a month prior, which has already handled 2,843 public engagements between June 28 and July 29, 2026.
nAccording to the agency, the hotline has fielded 1,047 enquiries, 709 commendations, 400 reports of road accidents and vehicle breakdowns, 163 formal complaints, and 11 information requests, with 468 cases successfully resolved.
nAdditionally, the hotline has recorded 45 unsuccessful calls, attributed to issues such as abandoned calls, network interruptions, and technical problems.
nLASTMA's General Manager, Mr Olalekan Bakare-Oki, explained that the Physical Complaint Centre will provide an in-person alternative to the agency's digital reporting channels, catering to those who prefer face-to-face interactions to report grievances and seek clarification on traffic-related matters.
nBakare-Oki stated that every complaint received will be treated seriously and investigated in accordance with established procedures and the principles of natural justice.
nThe LASTMA boss viewed the strong response to the toll-free call centre as evidence of growing public trust in the agency's operations, demonstrating its commitment to excellence, integrity, and transparency.
nHe reaffirmed the agency's zero-tolerance stance on corruption, extortion, misconduct, and abuse of office, assuring that any culpable officers will face disciplinary action in line with the Public Service Rules and the agency's disciplinary framework.
nBakare-Oki encouraged the public to utilize both the Physical Complaint Centre and the 3367 toll-free hotline to report traffic emergencies, seek information, and provide feedback to improve traffic management across Lagos.
