Lagos seals church, hotels, businesses over environmental violations

The Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency has sealed 12 establishments, including a church and hotels, across parts of the state over alleged persistent violations of environmental regulations.

LASEPA disclosed this in a statement posted on its official X handle on Wednesday, saying the enforcement exercise was carried out on Tuesday.

The statement read, “LASEPA, on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, sealed twelve establishments across Ogba, Idimu-Ikota, Ejigbo, LASU-Iba Road, Igando and Agodo-Egbe areas of Lagos State for persistent violations of environmental regulations, despite repeated warnings, abatement notices and several opportunities granted to facilitate compliance with the Agency’s directives.”

The agency said the enforcement exercise was carried out in line with directives of the Lagos State Government to ensure compliance with environmental laws and protect public health.

LASEPA said the action was also aimed at promoting a cleaner, healthier and safer environment for residents.

Among the establishments sealed was Thrillz Lounge on Odusanmi Street, Ogba, which LASEPA said was shut for noise pollution and non-compliance with its directives.

Others are “Feixiang Plastic, located along LASU-Ojo Road, Oko Filling Bus Stop, was sealed for non-compliance with the Agency’s directives.

“Marvel Hotel & Suites, located at Chrisbee Crescent, BRT Bus Stop, Igando, was sealed for noise pollution and non-compliance with the Agency’s directives.

“Keviz Hotel & Suites, located on Councilor Ajayi Street, Obadore Bus Stop, LASU-Iba Road, was sealed for obstruction of duty and non-compliance with the Agency’s directives.

“DSN Hotel & Suites, located on Benson Onyeacholen Street, O’Mark Bus Stop, LASU-Igando Road, was sealed for non-compliance with the Agency’s directives.

“Rudaj Vegetable Oil, located on Tanimowo Street, Ologufe Bus Stop, Igando Road, was sealed for non-compliance with the Agency’s directives.

“Celestial Church of Christ (Aduragbemi Parish), located on Adetola Buhari Street, Okerube Bus Stop, Ikotun, was sealed for noise pollution and non-compliance with the Agency’s directives.

“Limas, located on Aro-Oloye Street, off Abaranje Road, Abaranje, Ikotun, was sealed for non-compliance with the Agency’s directives.

“Nico Hotel & Suites, located at Ayawo Close, NEPA Bus Stop, Egbe-Isolo Road, Ejigbo, was sealed for non-compliance with the Agency’s directives.

“Kobo Night Club, located on Abanishe Street, off Hostel Road, Agodo-Egbe, was sealed for noise pollution and non-compliance with the Agency’s directives.

“Master Furniture, located on Coleman Street, Pao Bus Stop, Idimu-Ikota Road, was sealed for non-compliance with the Agency’s directives.

“Nikky’s Executive Bar & Lounge, located on Governor’s Road, Ikotun, was sealed for non-compliance with the Agency’s directives.”

Speaking on the enforcement operation, the General Manager of LASEPA, Dr. Babatunde Ajayi, reaffirmed the Agency’s commitment to protecting public health and preserving the environment.

He urged “business owners, facility operators, religious institutions, scrap dealers and residents across the State to embrace environmentally responsible practices, obtain all necessary permits and approvals, comply fully with applicable environmental regulations and cooperate with LASEPA in its efforts to build a cleaner, healthier and more sustainable Lagos.”

The agency said it would continue to enforce environmental regulations across the state.
